Areas for Inspection
Where do they nest? Rodents like mice can pose quite a challenge. They are agile and flexible enough to get into the smallest of spaces, so there really is a need to scour the building from top to bottom, searching for the likely places where these rodents may have settled. That said, we have a list of common areas where these rodents are hiding.
Attics, lofts, and eaves. These places may have many soft materials stored in them. Perfect for the mice to shred and line their nesting place. If these places also reek of ammonia-like smell, you’ve found their nesting ground.
Basements and cellars. While these are spider haunts, these places give easy access to mice through air bricks and vents, especially if they’re damaged.
Kitchen and laundry. Because mice can easily squeeze into small spaces and gaps behind a refrigerator or a freezer, or under the base of a cooker, these areas are also inspected. Pipework and cabling entering through walls from the exterior give mice a chance to sneak in, so we also check behind the washing machine.
